Kachumar (کچومر) is a podcast about navigating life’s challenges and building resilience. Life often takes unexpected turns, and resilience helps us move through them. In this podcast, we explore what it means to adapt, grow, and redefine success in the face of uncertainty. The focus is on the how—the tools, techniques, and mindset shifts that make resilience a practical, lived experience. Conversations will flow naturally, blending Urdu/Hindi, and English—just like everyday life.
About Kachumar (کچومر)
Kachumar is a podcast about building personal resilience in real, practical ways. The name comes from kachumar, a chopped vegetable salad served as a side with desi food. Life is similar: a mix of experiences, some sweet, others not so. But with the right tools and techniques, it can come together into something meaningful. That is what this podcast is about, using life’s ups and downs as a way to build personal resilience.
This is not motivational talk or a positivity spin on struggles. Kachumar focuses on tools, habits, frameworks, and strategies that help us prepare for challenges, not just react to them. We talk about building physical, emotional, and mental resilience, securing our financial future, and building strong relationships, among other such topics, so we can live fully and be more ready when life throws something unexpected our way.
If you understand Urdu or Hindi and want honest, grounded conversations about life and resilience, Kachumar is for you.
About the Podcaster
Babar Malik is the voice behind Kachumar. He is a senior development sector professional, a progressive farmer, and now a podcaster, with 25 years of work experience.
Babar works as a strategic advisor and consultant with international organisations, government departments, and the private sector. His work focuses on agriculture and enterprise development, covering areas such as strategy and policy design, value chain optimisation, investment climate reform, and the design and execution of complex development programmes.
Since 2014, he has also been running his own farm, applying progressive farming techniques in a real-world setting. This gives him a grounded understanding of how businesses struggle and grow, especially in the rural context, where challenges differ greatly from urban environments.
Alongside his professional work, Babar has spent years exploring the subject of personal resilience, through reading, research, documentaries, podcasts, and most importantly, by applying and living these techniques and frameworks in his own life. He has tested and refined them over time, adapting them to fit our desi cultural realities.
Through Kachumar, he brings together all these layers, from policy discussions with governments and donors, to hands-on work with entrepreneurs, innovators, and rural communities, to personal experiences of building resilience in real-life situations.
